Food Images & Camera Access: When you use CalorieLens to capture or upload food photos, those images are processed securely using AI algorithms to detect food items and estimate calorie/macronutrient values.
Account Data: If you sign in using your Google Account for Cloud Backup, we collect basic profile identifiers (e.g., your email address and unique user ID) to associate your backup data safely with your account.
Usage & Nutritional Log Data: Information regarding foods logged, daily calorie goals, water intake, and nutritional breakdowns stored within the app.
Device & Diagnostics Data: Technical details such as device model, OS version, app performance logs, and anonymized crash analytics to ensure application stability.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely for the following operational purposes:

To perform AI-powered food identification and nutritional estimation.
To enable cloud synchronization and backup across your authorized devices.
To deliver AI Health Coach conversational responses tailored to your logged dietary metrics.
To serve non-intrusive advertisements (for free-tier users) via Google AdMob in compliance with Google Play Developer Policies.
To maintain application performance, security, and fix software bugs.

3. Third-Party Services & Advertising

CalorieLens integrates trusted third-party SDKs to deliver core functionalities:

Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Used to display advertisements. AdMob may use device identifiers and cookies to serve relevant ads. Premium subscribers enjoy a 100% ad-free experience.
Firebase & Google Cloud Services: Used for secure user authentication, cloud storage backups, and app performance monitoring.
Razorpay: Processes secure payments for optional premium subscriptions. We do not store or process payment card details directly on our servers.

4. Data Storage, Security & Retention

Your privacy and security are paramount. CalorieLens employs industry-standard encryption protocols (HTTPS/TLS) during data transmission and storage. Your food log and preferences reside locally on your device unless you initiate a cloud backup.

You can clear all your local food history and app data at any time directly from the Settings menu in the app.

CalorieLens does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete such information.
